There’s been one thing missing from my house, but I didn’t realise what it was until today…

My cat has always seemed rather happy stealing my space on the sofa and sleeping at the bottom of my bed, but now George will have some furniture of his own thanks to IKEA.

The legendary furniture designers are known for stocking everything you need to make a house a home and it’s virtually impossible to walk into the store and come out with just tealights.

But now they’ve taken things to a whole new level, releasing a collection of furniture specifically designed for pets.

And if you think I’m joking, just check out their website.

The new collection called ‘Lurvig’, which means ‘shaggy’ in Swedish, includes everything from dog beds, to couch covers to cat tunnels and scratching posts.

IKEA’s website says:

Have you ever felt like your cat or dog wasn’t just a pet, but a member of the family?

It’s exactly that focus that led IKEA to make the comprehensive LURVIG pet product range.

Created by pet loving designers with support from trained veterinarians, the range covers all the bases of our shared life with pets indoors and out, so you and your pet can enjoy your home together.

All pet owners love their pet like it’s their child and so this range is bound to be really paw-pular.

It is already causing quite the storm online with hundreds of pet owners expressing their excitement on social media.

The collection is currently being rolled out in stores across the US, Canada, France and Japan.

If popular, other stores across the world will stock the paw-some range from March 2018.

Sadly that means we will be waiting for a while here in the UK to buy those rather swanky sofas designed for both our cats and dogs.

Luckily for us the collection is just as affordable as the rest of IKEA’s range.

A bed for your pet will put you back around $27 or $37 dollars, depending on what size you buy, while a travel bag is only $25.

My favourite item, which George will certainly be treated to, is a cat house which costs $5.99 and has the ability to stack alongside other houses to create a lovely home for your best pal.

Considering that cats have their very own wine and dogs can enjoy a tipple in the shape of pawsecco – seriously just google it – it seems that our pets’ lives are more chill and glamorous than ours.

And now that IKEA has designed its own range of stylish furniture for them their lives just got even more fancy and I have to be honest, I am a little bit jealous.

The only thing we are wondering is, how on earth are the cats and dogs going to be able to assemble the furniture when it is enough of a struggle for us humans?
